State of Health North West 2024 — Press Pack

On 11 July 2024, Ritshidze will launch a detailed report into the state of the public healthcare system in the North West. While some improvement has been made, long waiting times and ongoing stockouts persist, and too few people are getting longer ARV refills. The meetings will be live streamed on vimeo, facebook and YouTube.

The report will be presented to the North West health department & other duty bearers at a community meeting in Mafikeng. We will also hear the real experiences of people living with HIV, the LGBTQIA+ community, sex workers, people who use drugs, & other public healthcare users accessing healthcare in the province.

This is the fourth edition of the annual North West State of Health report. Data in this report were collected between April and May 2024 at 72 facilities in the province (25 in Bojanala Platinum, 28 in Dr Kenneth Kaunda, 19 in Ngaka Modiri Molema). Additional data was collected through interviews with 1,579 members of key populations in the community.
