WHAT: On Sunday 30 November 2025, the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) is hosting a community accountability meeting in Sekhukhune, in Limpopo. Brand new Ritshidze data – collected between October and November 2025 – will be released documenting the state of 375 clinics across 19 districts and 7 provinces in the country. Data will be compared to Ritshidze’s October 2025 and January 2025 reports to assess the impact of the PEPFAR cuts, almost a year on, as well as the overall quality of service delivery. Community members will also be present speaking out about their own experiences using public clinics.
WHO: The Deputy President and Minister of Health will be in attendance and have been provided with a platform to respond on the day, and to react to the Ritshidze data. 200 public healthcare users from communities across Limpopo will also be in attendance – including people living with HIV, people who use drugs, sex workers, and queer and trans people.
WHY: TAC’s community meeting comes the day before the commemoration of World AIDS Day in Limpopo. The event aims to highlight the many ongoing challenges in our clinics that are ultimately stopping the government from getting 1.1 million people on, or back on ARVs. Without addressing these, people will continue to be lost from care at unacceptable rates. We will also look into the slow progress made towards the commitment made by the Deputy President and Minister a year ago for people to start getting a 6 month supply of ARVs, making it easier to collect and stay on treatment.
